Who is the Myn Manne
The Myn Manne Marine Association had its humble beginnings
back in 1977 with its first gathering at Sodwana Bay. It was organized by a few
avid anglers from Matla Mine and the total number of boats competing were a mere
three.
The competition has taken leaps and
bounds since then and we have witnessed record numbers in the last few years,
with entries exceeding 80 boats and 600 anglers.
Since the Myn Manne is essentially a
competition for employees and contractors of mines, most of the sponsors are
from the mining industry.
The association is a non-profit one and
is solely there for the benefit of the anglers, the sport of deep sea fishing
and conservation as we are affiliated with SADSAA (South African Deep Sea
Angling Association).
